KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Memasuki Mei 2024, dolar Amerika Serikat (AS) cenderung terkoreksi. Rupiah menjadi salah satu mata uang dengan penguatan terkuat.

Berdasarkan data Bloomberg pada Senin (6/5), rupiah berada di Rp 16.026 per dolar AS, menguat 0,36% dari hari sebelumnya. Dalam lima hari terakhir, rupiah menguat 1,42%.

Kepala Ekonom Bank Permata Josua Pardede mengatakan, tren penguatan rupiah merupakan respon pasar dari pernyataan dari the Fed, serta data ketenagakerjaan AS yang cenderung melemah. Namun demikian, ia menilai penguatan ini cenderung bersifat sementara.

“Ini sejalan dengan risiko dari kondisi AS yang belum dapat dipastikan mengalami perlambatan sepenuhnya,” kata Josua kepada Kontan.co.id, Senin (6/5).

Josua menyebut, investor masih akan menantikan data-data AS dalam satu bulan hingga dua bulan ke depan untuk dapat mengafirmasi arah suku bunga the Fed di tahun 2024. Dia memperkirakan, rupiah masih akan bergerak di kisaran Rp 16.000 per dolar AS hingga semester I, sejalan dengan ketidakpastian yang masih tinggi.

“Namun kami perkirakan rupiah sudah mampu akan bergerak menguat di semester II, seiring dengan potensi peningkatan sentimen risk-on menjelang pemotongan suku bunga the Fed,” kata dia.

Sepanjang bulan Mei ini, rupiah menjadi salah satu mata uang yang mencatatkan apresiasi yang signifikan akibat tren pelemahan dolar AS. Selain rupiah, mata uang negara maju seperti poundsterling dan euro dinilainya berpotensi menjadi mata uang yang terapresiasi di jangka pendek.

“Sejalan dengan bank sentral mereka yang mempertimbangkan untuk menunda pemotongan suku bunga,” sebutnya.

Pengamat komoditas dan Mata Uang Lukman Leong juga sepakat bahwa penguatan hanya sementara. Terlebih dari dalam negeri belum ada sentimen kuat yang mampu mendorong penguatan rupiah lebih jauh.

Meskipun memang, pada pekan lalu dana asing mulai kembali masuk ke Indonesia di pasar surat berharga negara (SBN) sebesar Rp 3,75 triliun. Namun, ia menilai hal itu karena memang ada investor yang memanfaatkan kenaikan suku bunga Bank Indonesia (BI) untuk melakukan bargain hunting SBN.

Karenanya, hingga semester I ia menilai rupiah masih sulit untuk menguat jauh dari Rp 16.000. Sementara di akhir tahun, apabila the Fed memangkas 35-50bps maka rupiah bisa kembali ke sekitar Rp 15.500 per dolar AS.

“Jika tidak ada pemangkasan suku bunga, maka rupiah akhir tahun di kisaran Rp 16.500 per dolar AS-Rp 17.000 per dolar AS, tergantung intensitas intervensi BI,” paparnya.

Di tengah ekspektasi pemangkasan suku bunga, Lukman berpandangan mata uang Asia yang menarik diperhatikan adalah rupiah dan peso. Sebab, kedua mata uang ini merupakan yang berisiko dengan tingkat suku bunga yang tinggi.

“Untuk peso bisa ke kisaran ?53 per dolar AS,” imbuhnya. Adapun saat ini peso juga tengah menguat 0,24% ke ?57,23 per dolar AS dan dalam lima hari terakhir telah menguat 0,81%.
