On Tuesday afternoon, Colorado lost a huge piece to the transfer portal.
Cormani McClain, the top-ranked cornerback in the 2023 recruiting class, has decided to move on from the Buffaloes and Coach Prime. This is a huge blow to a Colorado team with high expectations for the 2024 season.
McClain, a 6’3, 170-pound defensive back out of Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Florida has four years of eligibility remaining. He was the number 14 nationally ranked prospect and the fourth-ranked prospect out of Florida in 2023.
Hayes Fawcett of On3 announced the news via social media:
“BREAKING: Colorado CB Cormani McClain plans to enter the Transfer Portal, he tells On3. The 6’3 173 CB from Lakeland, FL was ranked as the No. 1 CB in the ‘23 Class (per On3)”
