Englantilainen rock-yhtye Deep Purple julkaisee uuden albumin, joka kantaa nimeä =1. Levy julkaistaan 19. heinäkuuta.

Kyseessä on Deep Purple -yhtyeen neljäs albumi, joka on luotu tuottaja Bob Ezrinin kanssa. Teos sisältää yhteensä 13 kappaletta, joista ensimmäinen single ilmestyy 30. huhtikuuta.

Deep Purple on vaikuttanut vuodesta 1960 lähtien ja yhtye tunnetaan raskaamman rockin yhdeksi peruspilariksi. Bändin jäseninä vaikuttavat laulaja Ian Gillan, basisti Roger Glover, rumpali sekä perustajäsen Ian Paice, kosketinsoittaja-virtuoosi Don Airay sekä tuoreimpana tulokkaana artisti Simon McBride.

Albumin arvoituksellinen nimi =1 symboloi ajatusta siitä, että yhä monimutkaisemmaksi muuttuvassa maailmassa kaikki yksinkertaistuu lopulta yhdeksi, yhtenäiseksi olemukseksi. Lisää infoa symboliikan tarkoituksesta paljastetaan lähitulevaisuudessa.
