The Cleveland Browns posted just their third 11-win season in the last three decades last year as veteran QB Joe Flacco helped fuel a late-season surge to make the playoffs.
Now, Cleveland aims to build on that success and return to the postseason, except this time, advancing past the Wild Card Round.
Let’s take a look at the Browns’ schedule for the 2024 NFL season, where their strength of schedule (SOS) ranks, our record prediction, and preview Cleveland’s biggest matchups of the season.
Cleveland Browns’ Schedule and Opponents
The Browns’ exact schedule is not known just yet as that information has not been released, but we do know who their opponents will be for the 2024 season.
We will have to wait for the official NFL schedule release to find out exactly when Cleveland will face the following teams.
Home: Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants
Away: Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, New Orleans Saints
Browns’ Strength of Schedule
Cleveland faces one of the NFL’s tougher schedules for next season, at least on paper, with the fourth-toughest strength of schedule in the league behind only the Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, and New England Patriots.
The Browns are no stranger to a challenging slate, however, after playing one of the league’s tougher schedules in 2023.
The typically loaded AFC North looks poised to once again be a gauntlet between the Ravens, potentially resurgent Bengals, and a Steelers team that’s added some intriguing options at quarterback.
Many of Cleveland’s tougher games are at home, too, which could help turn the tide in some competitive affairs.
Browns Record Prediction: 9-8
The Browns’ 2024 win total is set at 8.5 at DraftKings Sportsbook, down a bit from their somewhat surprising 11-win season in 2023.
Some regression to the mean would certainly make sense for a franchise that has put together just five seasons with nine or more wins in the last three decades. Still, Cleveland found ways to win against a daunting schedule last season and could channel some more magic in 2024 as it gets some key contributors back from injury.
It feels like somewhere in the neighborhood of nine to 10 wins is a distinct possibility for the Browns despite their schedule, but much of that will depend on how well they can handle the difficult AFC North.
Biggest Matchups of the Year
Speaking of the AFC North, it houses many of the biggest matchups for Cleveland in 2024. The Browns went an even 3-3 in the division last year, splitting with all three foes to maintain a tight race among its counterparts.

Home matchups with the Cowboys, Dolphins, and Chiefs all present big challenges as well, however, with losses looking very possible in all three contests. Finding ways to knock off some of those likely competitive teams in 2024 would be a key step toward another strong season in Cleveland and perhaps the first run of back-to-back 10-win (or better) seasons since having three straight in 1986-88.
