Kate Middleton is often in the headlines but things have taken a slightly bizarre turn this week with people now sharing their wild theories about where she is.
The Princess of Wales hasn’t been seen in public since Christmas and has since mid-January been recovering at home following surgery which required a 13-day stay in hospital.

Royal watchers have been eagerly awaiting any news from the palace about Kate’s condition but following a day of surprise royal news on Tuesday which saw Prince William drop out of an appearance, the Firm’s fans have gone into overdrive.

Many people shared their thoughts on where the mum-of-three is on X, formerly Twitter, and while multiple people said she’s simply taking it easy and recovering at home, there were many others with more outrageous and amusing suggestions.
The phrase ‘where is Kate Middleton?’ was trending by Wednesday morning with dozens of conspiracy theories doing the rounds on everything from her taking a holiday from the family to hiding out after a bad haircut.

One person said, ‘Of all the “Where is Kate Middleton?” conspiracy theories, “she’s Banksy” is my favourite,’ while another shared a screenshot of how long it takes for bangs, which Kate debuted late in 2023, to grow out (typically three to four months if you were wondering).
Another theory doing the rounds was that Kate’s kicking back and relaxing on a cruise: ‘Kate Middleton on the world cruise while everyone loses their mind over where she is!’

One person even appealed to Taylor Swift’s notoriously sleuthy fans for help saying: ‘Can the Swifties who spend all their time hunting for easter eggs that aren’t there with the fervor of Jake Gyllenhaal hunting the Zodiac Killer do something useful for once and figure out where Kate Middleton is?’
Others turned to another gossip queen and sparked the wildest Bridgerton Polin series theory yet (although we would be down for a royal crossover) when they asked: ‘I need a full Lady Whistledown exposé on where Kate Middleton is STAT. I’m too nosy for this level of suspense.’

Needing a bigger hand, several other people called in the big guns from detective TV shows. ‘They could solve the Kate Middleton case in a heartbeat,’ said one person next to a picture of David Tennant and Olivia Colman’s characters from Broadchurch.
The latest update on Kate came on Tuesday when royal sources said she was ‘doing well’ in the wake of her husband Prince William dropping out of his godfather’s memorial service for ‘personal reasons’.

Hours after Wills missed the service which was attended by other members of the family including Queen Camilla and Prince Andrew, it was revealed that Prince and Princess Michael of Kent’s son-in-law Thomas Kingston had died at the age of 45.
