Former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson has found a new home – and jersey number – in 2024.
Wilson, who was traded from the Jets to Broncos earlier this week in a deal that included a swap of late-round picks, won’t be rocking his usual No. 2 jersey to begin his time in Denver.
He’s chosen to wear the No. 10 in 2024.
Many in Broncos Nation were hoping Wilson would choose the No. 3 as his new number.
Why? That would’ve meant everyone who’d purchased Russell Wilson jerseys over the past few years wouldn’t need to go out and buy new ones.
Zach Wilson didn’t choose No. 3, though, and the jersey number he did pick isn’t sitting well with fans either.
That’s because it was the number worn by Oregon quarterback Bo Nix – a fan-favorite selection for Denver at No. 12 overall.
“Giving Wilson #10 when we’re about to draft Bo tonight is a sin,” one Broncos fan replied to the number change news.
“Why is Wilson wearing 10 that is for bo nix,” another fan replied.
“Giving Wilson 10 and drafting Nix will be interesting lol,” Jeff added.
“Zach Wilson is losing 10 tonight,” another fan writes.
The first round of the 2024 NFL Draft will get underway at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday.
Will Zach Wilson be in for some awkward conversations with the Broncos’ first-round selection?
