Former Jet Airways chairman Naresh Goyal’s plea for interim bail on medical and humanitarian grounds, citing his and his wife Anita Goyal’s cancer battles, faced opposition from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Instead, the ED proposed extending Goyal’s hospital stay by a month. Earlier, a special court denied Goyal’s bail request but allowed him to seek treatment at a private hospital in February. Goyal was arrested by the ED in September 2023 for allegedly laundering funds and diverting loans totaling Rs 538.62 crore from Canara Bank meant for Jet Airways.
