Knicks Playoff Game 7 Injury Update: Can OG Play?
The New York Knicks have in this postseason been victimized by the injury bug.
But maybe they have a chance to bite back for Game 7 against the Indiana Pacers.
Knicks forward OG Anunoby has been upgraded to questionable for this must-win outtime at MSG ... and his presence would represent a big boost.
Anunoby has been inactive since Game 2 of the series, having suffered a hamstring strain in the third quarter of that game.
Knicks Playoff Game 7 Injury Update: Can OG Play?
The Sunday plan? See if OG can get through shootaround ahead of Game 7 vs. the Pacers ... and decide from there.
The Knicks with OG can offer a different dimension on both ends of the floor. He can add perimeter shooting on offense and he can be deployed as a defensive piece with versatility by coach Tom Thibodeau on the other end.
In Game 2 of this series, Anunoby offered up 28 points in 28 minutes. ... and it seemed that the Pacers had no answers for him.
The Knicks have been banged up for this entire series, with Jalen Brunson fighting through it but other guys, including Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson ruled out and unavailable. Not there is an issue with Josh Hart, too, as he is dealing with an abdominal strain.
The Knicks cannot ask Anunoby to be the cure-all for everything that might ail New York going into Game 7. But his availability could be the tiny edge that allows the Knicks to advance ... or to fall short.
