Boise State Football: OC Bush Hamdan Taking Kentucky Job, Per Reports

Per Saturday reports from ESPN’s Pete Thamel as well as 247Sports, Boise State offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan is expected to move to the SEC in the coming days. Hamdan will reportedly take the same position with the Kentucky Wildcats.

Hamdan would join Mark Stoops’ staff in Lexington after spending the 2023 season as the OC and quarterbacks coach at BSU, which is his alma mater. Hamdan played quarterback for the Broncos from 2004 to 2008.

Prior to Boise State, Hamdan spent three seasons as a member of Eli Drinkwitz’s staff at Missouri, coaching quarterbacks and wide receivers.

A native of Kuwait, the 37-year old has been an assistant coach at either the Division I or NFL level every season since 2009. Kentucky will be the fifth different school that Hamdan has been an offensive coordinator for. He was previously the OC for Washington, Davidson College, and Arkansas State, in addition to last season in Boise.

Hamdan led a Boise State offense that had the #6 rushing offense in FBS last season, averaging 214.9 yards on the ground per game.

Hamdan will replace Liam Coen at Kentucky, who was recently hired to be the offensive coordinator for the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
