The administrative renovation at Halas Hall by Bears president Kevin Warren continues.
In a two-month period filled with hirings, promotions and dismissals throughout the team’s offices, they now have someone who could help in a few different ways. Warren hired Ted Crews as his own special advisor to help streamline the team’s public relations and media relations strategies, according to the team.
Crews has been involved with public relations in the NFL for 26 years, including 12 years with Kansas City.
Someone who is trying to get a football stadium built at a time when no public money seems to be available for such moves can use someone involved with PR.
Crews was a media relations intern initially in Carolina, then was with the Falcons and St. Louis Rams in communications capacities. He became Chiefs vice-president of communications in 2012 and was responsible for media scheduling, preparation and speech writing. He has been invited 10 times to serve as the Super Bowl public relations captain.
“The ability to leverage the vast expertise of Ted Crews will be massively impactful with building a progressive Chicago Bears franchise,” Warren said in a statement issued by the team.
The team’s restructuring recently included hiring Krista Whitaker as executive vice-president of legal and business affairs and chief legal officer, Andrea Zopp as senior advisor of legal and business affairs, made Tanya Dreesen the senior vice-president of strategy and global affairs, named Karen Murphy executive vice-president of stadium development and promoted Liz Geist to chief human resources officer and executive vice-president of people and culture.
