Aussie star teams up with NBA greats
Aussie star Min Woo Lee is going to be playing for NBA royalty after signing with a team for Tiger Woods’ new indoor golf league owned by Golden State Warriors champions Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
Lee, the world No.34, has joined the roster of the newly formed Bay Golf Club for Woods’ TGL, the tech-infused golf league that will start in 2025 after a 12-month delay.
The Australian was scouted to the join the inaugural league before the purpose-built stadium in Florida was destroyed by severe weather. The delay also cost the league the presence of Jon Rahm, who has since joined LIV Golf.
Lee will now join reigning US Open champion Wyndham Clark, Ludvig Åberg and Shane Lowry as part of the California-based team that includes four-time NBA champions Curry, a golf fanatic who has attempted to play on the secondary Korn Ferry Tour, Thompson and former teammate Andre Iguodala among the ownership group.
Formula 1 driver Alex Albon is also among a slew of minority owners.
