As someone who has moved roughly 11 times in the last nine years, I am familiar with having to find ways to organize items. Because baskets are one of the first things I sell or give away when I move, I’ve probably bought as many different organizers over the years as apartments I’ve had. While that might sound wasteful to some people, if you move once a year for years, you start getting sick of moving all of your items.
So, to save myself money I started heading to thrift stores and Dollar Tree to find ways to organize my space. You’d be shocked by how many great options Dollar Tree has for keeping your space clean and mess-free!
Don’t just take my word for it! Emma Villaneda who runs the TikTok account @thecraftedstudioco just showed all of her followers why you shouldn’t count Dollar Tree out when it comes to organization finds. Sure, you could get expensive baskets and hanging organizers from stores like Target and Pottery Barn, but they’re going to cost you!
Dollar Tree Organizers
In her recent video, Emma showed all of her followers the woven baskets with lids that are only $3 at Dollar Tree. I’ve seen the exact same ones for at least double the price at both HomeGoods and Target. In fact, I have nearly identical baskets in my bathroom and I paid double the price.
The baskets are gray and come with lids so they are perfect for stacking in tighter spaces where you have to utilize the vertical space. She uses them for toiletries and hand towels in her linen closet. She also found oversized woven baskets without a lid that are perfect for larger towels, toilet paper, and so much more!
Thrifting Organizational Staples
If you’re like me, you’ve been trying to find ways to be a little more sustainable. Gone are the days of moving once a year and buying new organization staples each time. Instead, head to your local thrift store or check your local Buy Nothing Facebook groups. While the baskets from Dollar Tree are great options, they aren’t the only way to keep your house tidy for a low cost. I’ve found a ton of vintage baskets at my local thrift store for even less than these Dollar Tree options!
There’s nothing like having an organized home. Even when the rest of your life is chaos, having simple tricks to keep your space orderly can make a world of difference.
