The countdown to the 2024 NYSPHSAA Tournament is on.
After crowning sectional champions and deciding the last state qualifiers, wrestlers will spend the next couple of weeks putting the finishing touches on their preparations and perfecting their craft ahead of their trip to Albany.
The NYSPHSAA Division I and II wrestling championships are back at the MVP Arena in Albany, and they are scheduled for Feb. 23-24.

Here’s some useful info to know, if you’re making the trip to Albany.
Tickets
Tickets may be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster (additional fees apply) or in-person at the MVP Arena Box Office.
Single session tickets are $12 in-person, or $17.70 online through Ticketmaster.
All-session passes available for purchase. General admission seats for all three sessions are $38 in person, or $47.45 on Ticketmaster.
There is also a premium seating upgrade for all session at the price of $58 at the on-site box office, or $72.60 on Ticketmaster.

The schedule for both days of the NYSPHSAA Division I and II Tournament is as follows:
Friday, Feb. 23 (Session 1)
8:15 a.m. – Doors open
9:30 a.m. – Opening ceremonies
10 a.m.-12 p.m. – First round matches
12-3 p.m. – Second round matches
3-4:30 p.m. – Quarterfinals
4:30-8 p.m. – Consolation rounds
Saturday, Feb. 24 (Session 2)
8:30 a.m. – Doors open
9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. – Semifinal and consolation matches
12:30-2 p.m. – Wrestlebacks and consi-semis
2 p.m. – Placement matches for Division I and II, arena will be cleared and closed after final match
Saturday, Feb. 24 (Session 3)
5:15 p.m. – Doors open
5:50 p.m. – Opening ceremonies for finals
6:05 p.m. – Championship finals begin, Division I and II matches will take place side-by-side at the same time

Who gets all-state?
The top eight place-finishers in each weight class for Division I and Division II get on the podium and earn all-state status.
Who’s representing the Lower Hudson Valley?
There will be a total of 37 wrestlers representing the Lower Hudson Valley competing at the NYSPHSAA championships from Section 1, NYSAIS and the CHSAA.
As a result of Section 10 not sending any Division I representatives to Albany this year, Section 1 received six additional bids to the state tournament. The Section 1 Division I runner-up at the 108, 124, 138, 152, 170 and 215-pound weight classes will also get to go to the NYSPHSAA championships.
