Taco Bell has been encouraging us all to Live Mas for years, and during its inaugural Live Más Live event Friday, they gave us more reasons to.
Held in a popup space on the Las Vegas Strip, the event showcased several new products coming to Taco Bell locations this year. The event closely follows the news that Taco Bell will launch at least one new product every five weeks, or twice the rate it did in 2023, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.
So what can we expect to see this year?
Bring On The Chicken
Taco Bell plans to have a lot more chicken on its menu this year.
In March, the company will launch a new Cantina Chicken menu with five new items – a Cantina Chicken burrito, Cantina Chicken soft taco, Cantina chicken crispy taco, Cantina chicken quesadilla, and Cantina chicken bowl. These have seasoned oven-roasted, shredded chicken, and several will feature new ingredients to hit the Taco Bell menu, like purple cabbage, pico de gallo, a white corn taco shell, and Avocado Verde salsa.
Taco Bell is also bringing some Crispy Chicken Nuggets to the menu this year, and those will be paired with the choice of two sauce options – Bell sauce, with tomatoes, red chiles, onion, and garlic, or the hot and sweet Jalapeño Honey Mustard, featuring sweet honey mustard and jalapeño.
Want even more chicken? The Cheesy Chicken Crispanada will hit menus nationwide on February 15, featuring chicken slow cooked with garlic, tomato, and onion, then topped with Monterey pepper jack, cheddar, and mozzarella cheeses, all inside a crisped pastry dough.
More Drinks and Treats Are Coming
Taco Bell is partnering with Beekeeper Coffee, a ready-to-drink cold brew and latte company known for its signature drop of honey, for the Horchata Cold Brew Latte. Taco Bell will also release the Churro Chillers this year.
Of course, most people already know that Taco Bell has a signature beverage with the Mtn. Dew Baja Blast, but you may not be aware that the two companies tested an energy drink and a gelato last year. The gelato will be available nationwide for a “very limited time” at the end of this summer, while Taco Bell will have a Baja Blast pie.
Taco Bell is also partnering with an ice cream company to create the Taco Bell x Salt & Straw Ice Cream Chocolate Taco, “a waffle cone filled with cinnamon ancho ice cream dipped in chocolate and studded with toasted brown rice,” per Nation’s Restaurant News. There will also be dipping and topping sauces in mango jalapeno, cinnamon wild berry, chocolate chili, and cheesecake.
Taco Bell said they will add Avocado Verde Salsa to its sauce lineup, and they have plans to work with sauce companies to co-create new items, such as Tajín, Secret Aardvark, and Disha Hot.
A Few Surprises
The Cheez-It Crunchwrap is probably one of the bigger surprises to be announced. This is a Cheez-It that is 16 times bigger than a regular Cheez-It and it will also be available as a Tostado.
There will also be a Cheesy Street Chalupas, with chicken or steak and filled with mozzarella and pepper jack cheeses, a cheesy enchilada Dipping Taco (a grilled cheese dipping taco), Cinnabon Delights with a new Dulce de Leche flavor, and a longer time-frame for getting the fan- favorite Nacho Fries.
This is shaping up to be a very big year for Taco Bell, and that is always exciting for diners!
