Albanese needs to ‘pick up phone’ to President Xi and implement 'a boundary''
Shadow Defence Minister Andrew Hastie has called on Prime Minster Anthony Albanese to pick up the phone to China’s President Xi Jinping and “lead”, as no minister has attempted to contact China over the Yellow Sea incident.
A fighter jet from the People’s Liberation Army-Air Force dropped flares in the immediate flight path of an ADF Seahawk conducting routine operations off HMAS Hobart in the Yellow Sea on Saturday night.
“You don’t know what could go wrong. You don’t know how a pilot might react or how someone on the water might react – so this is extremely risky behaviour by the Chinese military,” Mr Hastie told Sky News Australia host Peta Credlin.
