Wawa confirms intentions to expand into Dauphin County

HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) — A spokesperson with Wawa recently confirmed their intention to expand their footprint further into Central Pennsylvania.

A new Wawa may soon be making its way into the ‘sweetest place on earth’ on Cocoa Avenue at Fishburn Road in Hershey.

According to an email sent to abc27 news from Wawa, they are “actively looking for and working toward sites in the market including Cocoa Avenue at Fishburn Road.” Wawa added that they are currently going through the local land development process for this location.

Previously, Wawa’s had shared a press release in June of 2022, where they outlined their goals to expand further into the Midstate. According to the release, Wawa specifically said that they planned on adding about 40 new locations throughout Central Pennsylvania over the next 3 to 5 years.

“With a commitment to fulfilling lives, we’re thrilled to continue our growth and expansion in our existing markets to provide quality fresh food, beverages, and support to the community,” John Poplawski, Vice President of Real Estate for Wawa said in the press release. “In addition, Wawa’s continued expansion will mean even more convenience and new jobs in the Central Pennsylvania community.”
