Actress Subhashree Sahu from Odisha has unveiled her latest project — a new Odia web series in collaboration with Famesroot Productions. The series aims to shed light on the negative effects of online social media, particularly on young children.

Sahu, who has gained popularity on social media platforms, is working towards addressing the adverse impacts of social media.

Drawing from her own experiences as a victim of negative effects, she hopes to raise awareness and start a dialogue through this web series.

The web series will primarily focus on portraying the struggles faced by young individuals who have been adversely affected by online social media. The filming will take place in Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand, highlighting the widespread nature of the issue.

“I have personally experienced the detrimental effects of social media and I want to use this platform to shine a light on the issues that need attention,” Subhashree Sahu said while expressing her motivation behind the project.

Earlier this year, Subhashree Sahu’s one of videos had went viral on the internet. The video, according to her, was shared without her consent and led to a debate on how safe is social media.

Soon after her video went viral, authorities swung into action and registered a case under the POSCO Act and IT Act.

“The web series is a way of creating more awareness about the negative use of social media and how to safeguard yourself from falling prey to its bad side. It should be rather used as a medium to spread happiness and encourage people to be a better and kinder version of themselves,” she said.
