Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco

The Kansas City Chiefs have a troubling new injury to monitor this week before their matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game this weekend.

The Chiefs already had concerns about the availability of offensive guard Joe Thuney; now they have a problem in the backfield.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a new injury to monitor

According to Pete Sweeney, running back Isiah Pacheco suffered a toe injury in the Chiefs’ win over the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round. He did not practice Wednesday.

Wide receiver Skyy Moore, OL Trey Smith and Thuney also did not practice Wednesday.

Isiah Pacheco expects to play Sunday

Per the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Reid said Pacheco’s injury is “getting better.” Pacheco thinks he will be available against the Ravens.

However, a toe injury is always a cause of concern for a running back. Even if Pacheco can play the Ravens, his toe could limit his abilities in the AFC Championship Game. The Chiefs need their backfield to be effective since the wide receiver corps has struggled in the passing game all season.
