Duran Duran is set to return to the Bay Area for another intimate concert.
The iconic British pop band is scheduled to perform at the 500-capacity Guild Theatre in Menlo Park on Feb. 9, with a portion of the proceeds from the concert going towards supporting San Francisco’s Hamilton Families, an organization dedicated to combating family homelessness.
This marks Duran Duran’s second performance at the venue, with their previous show last August supporting the U.K.-based charity, the Cancer Awareness Trust. Before that, they were among the headliners at the 2023 BottleRock Napa Valley festival.
Presale tickets for the concert, priced at $995 each, will be made available to members of the Duran Duran VIP Fan Community starting at noon Monday, Jan. 22, with general sales opening at noon Wednesday, Jan. 24, via the Guild Theatre website.
Duran Duran — singer Simon Le Bon, bassist John Taylor, drummer Roger Taylor and keyboardist Nick Rhodes — was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, on the strength of their influential early-’80s hits such as “Girls on Film,” “Hungry Like the Wolf” and “A View to a Kill,” along with the 1993 hit “Ordinary World.”
Its most recent album, “Danse Macabre,” was released in October and features its interpretations of songs by the Rolling Stones, Talking Heads and Billie Eilish. The group’s 16th studio recording also featured its first new material with original guitarist Andy Taylor, who has been battling stage four prostate cancer, for more than a decade.
In addition to the Bay Area stop, Duran Duran is slated to headline the Cruel World Festival on May 11 at Pasadena’s Brookside at the Rose Bowl, performing on a bill loaded with new wave acts that include Blondie, Simple Minds, Soft Cell and Adam Ant.
The group’s touring lineup features guitarist Dom Brown and backing singers Anna Ross and Rachael O’Connor.
