Move over King Charles III because this year is all about the Danish Royal family- and what a way to begin 2024, by appointing a new King.
King Frederik’s mother Margrethe, the last reigning Queen in the world, announced that she was abdicating her throne after 52 years just before Christmas, citing health issues. But it also just so happened to coincide with rumours her son, the crown prince, had cheated on his wife Mary.

The former Queen is said to be extremely fond of her daughter-in-law, and its believed she was concerned Mary would leave her husband, causing a massive issue for the Danish monarchy.
But on January 14 Mary made her way to Christinaborg Palace joining her husband as they were crowned Queen consort and the new King Frederik of Denmark.
Renowned for her impeccable style and fashion, the crowd couldn’t wait couldn’t wait to get a glimpse of her outfit.

The dress, described by Vogue as ‘Regal, yet modern,’ was long-sleeved several designs were incorporated into the dress.
It had a cowl neck that sported a white cape draping over her left shoulder with two major buckles, one situated on the belt and near the top of her shoulder.
When it comes to the choice of colour, white is truly symbolic as it features in the national flag, indicating integrity and morality.
When it came to hair, jewellery and makeup, just like the colour of the dress, simple yet elegant was the theme. Her hair was pulled back in a bun with diamond drop earrings to compliment both brooches.

As 2023 came to a close the family were rocked with ‘affair’ accusations. It was claimed her husband, had been romancing Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova after they were spotted on a night out together, at 1am in the morning, something that was repeatedly denied.
Speculation increased further when Princess Mary was seen crying several weeks later and gave a cryptic Christmas address about loneliness.
