On Wednesday at 3:42 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory valid from 4 p.m. until Thursday 7 a.m. for Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties.
The weather service comments, “Winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 to 50 mph expected. Wind direction southwest late this afternoon becoming west tonight and then northwest late tonight into early Thursday morning.”
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” says the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.”
