McDonald's is rolling out a brand-new, limited-time $5 Meal Deal to help you beat the heat without burning your wallet.
Starting Tuesday at participating locations, the Golden Arches is flipping the script on rising prices that had customers McSteamed.
"We heard our fans loud and clear – they're looking for even more great value from us, and this summer that's exactly what they'll get," Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald's USA, said in a statement to USA TODAY.
The mouthwatering deal includes a McDouble or McChicken, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, small fries, and a small soft drink.
The bargain is available for about a month.
The outlet reported last week that the company was working on a value menu. Coca-Cola contributed marketing funds to help McDonald's make the deal a reality.
"We routinely partner with our customers on marketing programs to meet consumer needs. This helps us grow our businesses together," Coca-Cola told CNBC.
Newsweek reached out to McDonald's and Coca-Cola for more information.
The restaurant is also running a deal for app users this year. On "Free Fries Friday," app users get free medium fries with a minimum $1 purchase. The deal is valid until the end of the year nationwide.
Customers should also check to see if their local McDonald's restaurants are running any deals. Memphis costumers can enjoy a buy-one-get-one-for-$1 breakfast sandwich offer. In Western New York, McDonald's is offering a McChicken and McDouble mix-and-match deal for $3.99.
Last month, Erlinger put out a press release to fight back against social media posts claiming McDonald's raised priced beyond the rate of inflation.
"Recently, we have seen viral social posts and poorly sourced reports that McDonald's has raised prices significantly beyond inflationary rates," Erlinger said in a May 29 press release. "This is inaccurate. And for a brand that proudly serves nearly 90% of the U.S. population every year, we feel a responsibility to make sure the real facts are available."
McDonald's is not the only chain offering value meal deals. Competitor Burger King launched a $5 Your Way Meal earlier this month. The deal includes a choice of a Whopper Jr., Bacon Cheeseburger or Chicken Jr., fries, four-piece chicken nuggets and a soft drink.
Burger King's deal is expected to last several months.
"Our priority at BK is to offer Guests great value all year long — never just for a single month," a Burger King spokesperson told TODAY.com.
