The iconic studio also confirmed that fans wouldn't have to wait long for their next adventure in Hyrule, with Echoes of Wisdom dropping in September. Now, fans awaiting the game's release are being given the chance to prepare their Switches.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom marks a major departure for the franchise as the first traditional Zelda game without Link as the protagonist. Echoes of Wisdom revealed that players will instead be controlling the titular Princess Zelda in a reversal of roles that now sees Zelda journeying to save Link. As reported by NintendoLife, the official listing on Nintendo's website has confirmed the file size for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. According to the Nintendo listing, Echoes of Wisdom will require players to free up 6 GB of space on their hard drive to download the newest Zelda game. The moderate file size comes at a similar scale to the Link's Awakening remake, with the 2019 remake of the Game Boy Zelda requiring 5.8 GB. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is expected to launch on September 26.
With only one trailer released, the newest Zelda game looks to bring back plenty of homages and nods to past entries in the franchise. Fans carefully inspecting the trailer have already discovered several similarities between Echoes of Wisdom's Hyrule and the Light World featured in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Echoes of Wisdom will also feature the return of a companion character traveling with the player, with the fairy Tri accompanying Zelda.
While the announcement of Echoes of Wisdom served as a major surprise, many fans are still asking about two unannounced Zelda games.
