Wallabies squad for July Tests announced: 38 man squad for Australia games against Wales and Georgia
New Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt has named his squad for the July Tests against Wales and Georgia, with 13 uncapped players named in the 38-man squad.
Kurtley Beale has also made a return to the side, with his club captain Jeremy Williams being one of the uncapped players named in the team.
Notable absentees include Rob Leota and David Porecki — who are recovering from injury — as well as young flyhalf Carter Gordon, who recently announced his departure at the end of the year to the NRL.
The Rebels fly-half, who has played eight times for Australia, announced earlier this month he would be taking up a two-year deal beginning in 2025 with the Gold Coast Titans; the Rebels were wound up at the conclusion of the 2024 Super Rugby season.
Alex Hodgman, who played four games for the All Blacks in 2020, has also been named in the side and could become the fourth ever player to represent both the Wallabies and the All Blacks, with the prop playing for the Reds since the start of the year.
The Tests in Sydney and Melbourne will be the first since the disastrous 2023 World Cup campaign, where the Wallabies failed to emerge from the pool stage for the first time ever.
They faced off against both Wales and Georgia in France last year, suffering a record 40-6 defeat against Wales, whilst defeating Georgia by 20 points in their tournament opener.
Coach Eddie Jones left his role as Wallabies coach after the tournament, and was replaced by former Ireland coach Joe Schmidt in January.
The July Tests will consist of three games in the space of two weeks, with The Rugby Championship set to begin in August.

When are the Wallabies July Tests?
The first test of the series will see the Wallabies play Wales in Sydney on July 6, before travelling to Melbourne and AAMI Park to play the same opponents on July 13.
They travel back to Sydney to play their final test against Georgia at Allianz Stadium on July 20.
All matches can be watched on the Nine Network — Channel Nine and on demand on 9Now — as well as on Stan Sport, where all the games will be shown live and without ad breaks during play.
