Denver Broncos Talented RB Looking To Get Back On Track With Huge 2024 Season
The Denver Broncos could not be more excited to have running back Javonte Williams back on the field and closer to full health for the 2024 season. While injuries have derailed the start of his career, there is no denying the talent and potential that the young back has already shown in his brief opportunities.
He put together a decent 2023 campaign, but it was clear that he had not fully recovered from his brutal knee injury the year before. Now, he’s had a full offseason to get closer to full health.
Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Williams is ready to get back on track and put together a big-time year for the Denver Broncos.
Denver Broncos’ Javonte Williams Looking To Get Back On Track In 2024
During a recent press conference following the last practice of OTA’s, Williams spoke out about the upcoming season.
“I feel real good. Just another year in the system and the playbook, so I’m really starting to grasp everything and find the little details.”
Now that he’s healthy, Williams talked about being able to spend more time focusing on the playbook and improving his level of fitness.
“Most definitely. Just being out here with the guys, getting your timing and things down pat and not watching from the sidelines is always way better.”
Finally, he talked briefly about his knee injury and how he’s feeling right now.
“Yeah, I’m making progress each day. [I’m] getting one percent better and just trying to do the best that I can to help the team.”
Last season, Williams ended up playing in 16 games. He carried the football 217 times for 774 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught 47 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns.
Those numbers show the kind of dual-threat back that Williams can be for the Denver Broncos. If he can take his game to the next level, the Denver offense should be much more dangerous.
With rookie quarterback Bo Nix likely to play at some point this season, if not in Week 1, Williams will be a major help. He can take pressure off of the passing game with his ability to run the football and become a weapon out of the backfield.
Hopefully, he can put together a full season without injuries. If he can do that, the sky is the limit for him in 2024.
