The Pittsburgh Steelers will be featured in a whole new way this season. 22 NFL seasons have come and gone since the start of HBO’s Hard Knocks in 2001. This year, the cable network will be doing something they’ve never done with the series before. They will show an entire division.
This year’s series is called “Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North”.
The series will follow all four teams in the division and give a unique perspective each and every week and will include the regular season as well as the playoff run of the division winner and the teams vying for Wild Card spots.
The Steelers have never been featured on the Emmy Award winning show, but they will this year, and during the toughest stretch of the year for the gold and black. They series will premier right at the start of a run of seven straight games against playoff teams for the Steelers. We will get to see how Pittsburgh navigates that gauntlet on and off the field. This could be a galvanizing experience for the Steelers as a team.
"Last season the AFC North became the first division ever to have all four teams finish with a winning record, making it the perfect place to launch this new approach to 'Hard Knocks,'" NFL Films Vice President and Head of Content Keith Cossrow said. "We thank the Bengals, Browns, Ravens, and Steelers for the opportunity to showcase some of the greatest rivalries in football and present the intensity of a playoff chase from all four corners of this incredibly competitive division."
The in-season Hard Knocks will begin streaming weekly beginning on December 3 on MAX.
