Neat Starfield Mod Gives Controversial Quest a New Ending

  • A new mod fixes one disappointing Starfield quest ending, giving players a more satisfying option to support the ECS Constant crew in First Contact.
  • The mod allows players to attack Paradiso board, bu they should be warned that companions will be unhappy and security will then target the player.
  • Despite mixed reviews on the Creations feature thus far, many Starfield fans are rejoicing since mods offer new possibilities in gameplay and exciting twists.

One popular Starfield sidequest with an unfortunate ending that has left a lot of players disappointed has been fixed thanks to a new mod being hosted in Creations. The new mod provides an ending for the lengthy First Contact sidequest that finally allows Starfield players to give the crew of the ECS Constant a proper home in Paradiso.

The questline sees the player initially approaching a massive unidentified spacecraft orbiting Porrima II, the home of posh beach resort Paradiso, at the request of the city's government. Once on the ship, players discover that the residents pose no threat, and that they've been traveling for generations without the aid of a grav drive to what they hoped would be their new home planet, only to find it already occupied. The base game provides three possible outcomes to Starfield's First Contact quest — blow up the Constant, killing the crew; convince the crew to find another planet to live on, or turn them into indentured servants in the resort city.

Starfield Fans Are Still Asking For One Feature Teased in The Game's Concept Art

Starfield fans continue to ask for the implementation of a feature that has been previously teased in some of the game's concept art.

Those options have been disappointing for a lot of players, but a new mod hosted on Starfield's Creations provides a fourth option that should be more satisfying for players who support the crew, allowing the player to kill the members of the city's governing board. In the base game, these characters are marked as essential, so while they can be attacked, they will never die. With the Alternate Paradiso Solution - Eat The Rich mod enabled, however, players can wipe out the board at any time, though doing so will cause the player to be attacked on sight by Paradiso Group security for the rest of the playthrough.

When to Attack the Paradiso Board in Starfield

For players who decide to take this route, mod creator cognimancer offers some additional warnings. All the Constellation companions in Starfield will object to unprovoked violence against the board and may even leave the player behind, unless the player works their way through the questine and reaches an impasse in negotiations with Paradiso Group CEO Oliver Campbell, at which time they can choose a dialogue option to attack him without facing that particular repercussion. Additionally, players who are trying to romance Sarah Morgan may want to complete that romance questline before killing the board, as Sarah wants Paradiso resident Aja to officiate her wedding.

Starfield's Creations feature launched on June 9, opening up a lot of possibilities for new ways to play the game. Still, the feature isn't a welcome addition for all players, as Starfield is getting review bombed again over the microtransactions and price points for Creations content. Still some fans seem excited by the new turn that this particular mod allows, hoping one will also be released that allows players to take out villainous Neon overlord Benjamin Bayu.
