Katy Perry's new bikini body on album cover sparks Ozempic speculation

Katy Perry has sparked claims that she may be using Ozempic or another weight loss drug after showcasing her incredibly toned figure on the cover of her upcoming album.

After unveiling the cover art for her next record, social media users began to voice speculation that she may be taking a medication to achieve her recent weight loss.

The performer, who has spoken about trying to squeeze in workouts at least three or four times a week to maintain her figure, was accused of using a weight-loss drug to get in the shape of her life.

'I hate that like every celebrity, even ones who [are] already thin, is on Ozempic now,' one X user wrote.

Another tweeted: 'Woahhhhhhhhhhhhhu! Slay my Ozempic cutie. Looking snatched.'

A third asked if the album cover was 'AI or Ozempic.'

Others joked that the 'ozempic is ozempicking' and that Perry is 'so back.'

Still, some expressed missing her old appearance as they recalled how she 'used to be busty.'

In response to a video of herself lip-synching to her new track, Woman's World, while rocking a barely-there white bikini, one hater joked the recording was a 'new Ozempic commercial.'

Speculation that she is using a weight loss drug is unsubstantiated and Perry has not publicly spoken about taking any medications to slim down.

Back in 2011, she spoke about hoping conversations about body positivity continue to grow after 'decades of bad messaging.'

'Long gone are the days where you are not socially aware. You can't unsee all that crazy shit and not try to do something to change it,' she told Mashable, at the time.

On Monday, the Santa Barbara native nearly broke the internet after sharing a first look at her upcoming album's sexy new cover, shoot by British photographer Jack Bridgland.

While standing proudly toward the camera with her arms running through her hair, the mother-of-one flaunted her lean figure and abs in a white string bikini with matching briefs from DU CIEL.

The fiancée of Orlando Bloom shared the image, in which she looks trimmer than ever, while announcing her new track, with a July release date.

This is the first single from her new album.

This comes after Perry said she thinks a female star should replace her on American Idol.

The Grammy nominee previously suggested that Jelly Roll should be her replacement on the hit TV show - but on reflection, Katy now believes there should always be a female voice on the American Idol panel.

Katy - who starred on the TV show alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan - told E! News: 'That would be too many men, let's be honest.

'But we love Jelly Roll, and I'd love for him to be on this show whenever it's appropriate.'

Katy also stressed that her replacement needs to be someone who is 'honest and bold, not scared of negative comments.'

What's more, the chart-topping musician suggested that she's faced more scrutiny than her male co-stars.

Katy said: 'When you have an opinion, when you're bold, when you're a female, it just happens.'

In April, Katy actually tipped Jelly as her ideal replacement on the show.

The California Gurls hitmaker told E! News at the time: 'I gotta say Jelly Roll was crazy when he came on the show.

'I was convinced at anything he said. He could run for president, he could be my pastor, I might go back to church for him. He could sell me anything.

'So I love him. And to have any of these guys plus Jelly on the show would be amazing. I love you, Jelly!'

But ultimately, Katy wants a 'truth teller' to replace her on the 'American Idol' panel.

The pop star - who quit the TV show earlier this year in order to focus on other career opportunities - said: 'I want someone that is not afraid to tell the truth in a graceful way.'
