Fuka Nagano Named To Japan’s Olympic Team
While there are a multitude of international competitions this summer on the Men’s side featuring Liverpool players, including the Euros and Copa America, there is only one big tournament for the Women. That, of course, would be the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Liverpool midfield maestro Fuka Nagano has been named as one of the 18 squad members to represent Japan when the tournament kicks off in July. Fuka has been a regular for both club and country, and is expected to have a key role for her side. Fuka expressed her excitement to be a part of the Olympics after being named to the team.
“Honored to be heading to the Olympics with this amazing team. I’m so excited for my first Olympics!”

Fuka and Japan will have a very difficult task to advance out of their group. They will face the defending FIFA Women’s World Cup winners Spain in their opening match before taking on Brazil. Japan will conclude group play with Nigeria.
Fuka is the second Liverpool player to be named to an Olympic roster. Teagan Micah was previously listed as part of Team Australia’s roster.
