Joey backs NZ bid after Dan Carter sighting
The one for me is the South Island of New Zealand. Sorry James. No that's but I think the Perth Bears eventually will come in. But rugby league is booming in New Zealand. On the weekend the rugby union changed the time slot of their Super whatever 12:15 so they wouldn't go up against the Warriors. Warriors have had sellouts all year. Yep, Dan, Dan Carter, they're one of their greatest all blokes. He wasn't watching rugby union. He was at go Media watching the Warriors. Joe. Well, well, S Island. Do you have it at South Island at a Christchurch? It'll happen. And then it's rivalry. It's like their own state of or what about talent? What about over there? Now we're all around to Pete to find another. What do you need? 30 players aside, say we're gonna 35 squad these days, so we're pretty much 100 new players we need to find. But didn't we say the ability to play for first grade? Well, New Zealand might be a problem because New Zealand will probably 75 percent, 80% will be local. But we, we said that about the Dolphins. Yeah. And they, they got a decent squad. They're able to, to, to attract players. But I look at the Tigers, look at the Titans at the moment, they look that game on the weekend, it was a woeful game of footy in my opinion. Like where do we find another hundred players from? I don't look, we're gonna have to do it. It's gonna happen. We have no doubt to go back to weight divisions, bring in weight divisions in the juniors. So there's more kids playing, you get more kids playing. Why do you play sport? Because it's fun. You want to play with your mates. It's got to be safe. We bring weight divisions into footy. Weight divisions is in rugby union New Zealand and it works over there. We're the only combative really collision combative sport in the world doesn't have weight divisions in, well, you know, in the boxing game. Could you imagine you coming up against Tim Zoo that Tim zipper. I'd pay to watch it Matthew Johns. I think you would. Oh no, I understand what you're saying. But I'm saying if if you if you wanna expand at the top we gotta get we're gonna get the base down the bottom and for me like like a pyramid. We've gotta weight divisions is gonna. Is it make it worse? Yeah. I think it would bring more probably could attract more young people in the gap. But I'm, I'm sort of with Gus's theory about development and, and promoting more development and more development clubs. And I think we need probably more money spent in that area rather than so much trying to pay blokes minimum wage. Minimum wage these days is too much for me. I think invest more money into to grassroots and invest more money into clubs developing players rather than worrying about, you know, paying a bloke who's never gonna play first grade 150 grand.
