Watch the New Biden Ad That Unleashes on Trump
Joe Biden's campaign released its first ad targeting Donald Trump and his felony convictions over the weekend, as part of a new $50 million nationwide ad blitz.
The video, called "Character Matters," goes straight for the former president and his 34 felonies in his New York hush money trial.
"This election is between a convicted criminal, who's only out for himself, and a President who's fighting for your family," the narrated 30-second spot says.
The ad is part of a wider push by the Biden-Harris campaign to directly target Trump with around five months to go before election day.

It marks a change for the campaign, which has largely avoided talking about Trump's legal woes.
"In the courtroom, we see Donald Trump for who he is," the new ad says, showing a photo of Trump in the Manhattan courthouse.
The voiceover says Joe Biden has been working while Trump has been dealing with multiple court cases.
Another ad, entitled "Burn," accuses the former president of "stoking the flames of division and hate",on January 6, 2021.
Again, it aims to show a contrast between the two candidates, as the first debate between the pair looms on June 27.
Another, called "This Flag," features people saying they pledge allegiance to the American flag, not the flags flown by Trump supporters.
The campaign shift comes nearly a week after Biden's son Hunter Biden was convicted in his federal gun ownership trial, in which he was found guilty of lying on documents about his drug use when purchasing a firearm in 2018.
Trump, meanwhile, announced his latest campaign effort – "Black Americans for Trump" – on Saturday.
The announcement came with endorsements from elected officials, entertainers and athletes, his campaign said in a press release.
"Never has it been more clear that Joe Biden's reckless reversal of President Trump's America First policies is the very reason why Black communities have been utterly decimated under his Administration with sky-high grocery and gas prices, untenable housing costs, an invasion of illegal migrants and rampant violent crime," Team Trump Senior Advisor Lynne Patton said in a press release.
"On day one, Donald Trump will reinstate all his proven policies on immigration, law and order, energy, and the economy and put Black America First."
Biden's campaign is also reportedly targeting Black voters, along with Latino, Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander voters.
Over the weekend, the president held a record-breaking fundraising event in Los Angeles, with stars including Julia Roberts and Jimmy Kimmel joining him.
