Irish stars and Simon Harris celebrate King Charles' birthday at swanky garden party
A host of familiar faces turned out to raise a glass to King Charles at a swanky garden party on Thursday - even if the birthday boy wasn't in attendance!
Irish hosts and former 2FM radio presenters Doireann Garrihy and Jennifer Zamparelli were among the stars who made the most of a break in the rain and dashed over to the British Ambassador's residence in Glencairn.

Jennifer looked effortlessly elegant for the birthday garden party in a white suit comprised of cigarette-style trousers and a sleeveless long-line blazer jacket.

She added a splash of colour to her look with a pair of leopard-print heels and a gold bag and posed up a storm with the British Ambassador to Ireland Paul Johnston and his wife Nicola who wore a purple skirt and matching patterned jacket.
Doireann also kept things smart in a suit-inspired look but went for a brighter pink and purple co-ord which she accessorised with a small white bag.

Mary Kennedy was another presenter spotted enjoying an evening at the embassy with the star wearing a white polka dot dress and nude flats.

She shared several snaps from the sunny event, including a picture with Eileen Dunne and a selfie with Marty Morrissey and John Cunningham.

Elsewhere, jockey Rachael Blackmore looked fabulous in a red satin skirt and long-sleeved top while RTÉ racing broadcaster Jane Manhan wore a patterned red midi dress.

Taoiseach Simon Harris was also in attendance at the garden party in honour of King Charles' birthday, with the politician saying a few words to the crowd.
Other guests included RTÉ director general Kevin Bakhurst and people from Irish government as well as the worlds of politics, diplomacy, culture, sport, business, charity and academia.

The British Embassy pulled out all the stops for their guests and had the Eala Quartet, Fiona Gryson on harp, and the Birthday Boys provide musical entertainment at the party in honour of King Charles' birthday.

Thanking guests for coming along to the event on Thursday, they said: 'We were delighted to have An Taoiseach Simon Harris with us this evening, sharing some warm birthday wishes for the King on his birthday.

Charles gets to celebrate his birthday twice a year now he's King. The monarch was actually born on November 14 however because the weather is usually nicer in June, he gets an official birthday in the summer month as well.
King Charles' birthday will be celebrated in the UK on Saturday when the royals turn out for Trooping the Colour, although there'll be a few familiar faces missing this year.
