Justin Herbert showcased his impressive skills at the Los Angeles Chargers minicamp, reminding everyone why he's one of the NFL's top quarterbacks. The former Pro Bowler, who had a standout 5,000-yard season before an injury cut his 2023 campaign short, was in top form during the sessions.
On Wednesday, Herbert reportedly threw five touchdown passes, connecting with new additions like tight end Hayden Hurst and wide receivers D.J. Chark and Simi Fehoko. He also found fourth-year receiver Joshua Palmer for two scores, demonstrating his chemistry with both new and familiar targets.
Herbert's connection with rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey was also evident, as he completed several passes to the second-round pick from Georgia. With key receivers Mike Williams and Keenan Allen moving on to other teams this offseason, McConkey has a chance to step up early in the passing game.
With minicamp now concluded, the Chargers will break until training camp in mid to late July. However, Herbert mentioned that he and his receivers plan to continue working together during the break to maintain their momentum.
