Springboks, Bulls URC final – Kick-off times confirmed!
Our beloved Rugby World Champion Springboks return to action this weekend on the same day as the URC final at Loftus.
The Springboks kick-off their 2024 test rugby campaign against Wales in Twickenham on Saturday, 22 July.
Meanwhile, the Bulls host Glasgow Warriors in the United Rugby Championship final on the same day. So, to help you prepare for this epic super Saturday, here are the official confirmed kick-off times for both clashes.
SPRINGBOKS RETURN TO ACTION
The Springboks return to action for the first time since their famous 12-11 Rugby World Cup final triumph over the All Blacks. They take on old rivals, the Welsh in the early kick-off.
Kick off is at 15:00 (SA time).
Additionally, this is Rassie Erasmas’ first match during his second stint as Springboks coach. He will be without over 20+ members of RWC-winning squad due to injuries, club commitments and a suspension. However, when one door closes another opens. Therefore, this match will serve as a huge opportunity for several exciting youngsters to stake their claim in the green and gold of the Springboks.
BULLS TO HOST GLASCOW IN HISTORIC URC FINAL
The Bulls will host Glasgow in the URC final later, on the same day.
Kick-off is at 18:00 (SA Time).
Furthermore, this is the Bulls first international home final since the famous 2009 Super Rugby demolition job against the Chiefs. On that day, they won 61-17, dismantling the New Zealand outfit in the final.
Now, they are strong favourites but they know it will not be easy. After all, Glasgow just knocked out the reigning champions, Munster – on their own turf. Thus, setting up this final at Loftus. Interestingly, a couple of South Africans will be returning as well. Head coach, Franco Smith (ex-Cheetahs coach) and Henco Venter (Former Sharks flanker) are not on the plane to SA. Meanwhile, SA-born Scottish international Kyle Steyn is returning too.
The Bulls will be without two key Springboks. Kurt-lee Arendse and Canan Moodie are on the list of 10 injured Springboks ruled out of the first Ireland test.
