Steelers WR Calvin Austin III Showing True Leadership In Year 2
The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping to build on last year’s 10-win season. In spite of poor quarterback play from first-rounder Kenny Pickett, the Steelers willed their way to a playoff berth last year.

They are hoping that the addition of quarterback Russell Wilson and the emergence of receiver George Pickens along with a stifling defense will allow them to take the next step. Another player striving to take the next step is receiver Calvin Austin III.
Heading into his third pro season, Austin has impressed rookie third-round receiver Roman Wilson.
"Right now, the way I look at Calvin is he's a veteran of the room. In my opinion, I feel like he's more of the leader of the room," Wilson said. "He's just a great guy, great teammate. I feel like I can talk to him. I feel like I can ask him questions. He asks me questions, and I just feel like he's a great dude."
Austin, who missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury, will have the opportunity to make plays in this Arthur Smith offense with new quarterback Russell Wilson under center. The 2022 fifth-round rookie wants to be a leader on the field and off.
If his play on game day can mimic the way he leads all the other days, Austin could have a breakout season this year.
