Peter Dutton edges ahead as preferred prime minister
Opposition leader Peter Dutton has edged ahead of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese as Australia's preferred leader.
A recent Resolve Strategic poll revealed that 36 per cent of voters placed Mr Dutton as the preferred prime minister over Mr Albanese, who scored 35 per cent.

Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume claimed the results from the poll weren’t surprising.
“It is telling us what Australians already know, which is they are doing it tough,” Ms Hume told Sky News Australia.
“This is a government without a plan for their economic future.”
