A rather embarrassing viral video shows Donald Trump hanging on for dear life as he descends the stairs of his private airplane.

The footage, which was posted to X, sees the former president concentrating intensely as he walks down the stairs, clutching the railing next to him for support as he turns all of his attention on not falling.

Ron Filipkowski, the editor-in-chief of MeidasTouch, shared the video on X, writing: "Look how intensely focused he is on not screwing this up because this is so important to him. Staring down the whole time while gripping that railing."

When the former president reached the bottom successfully without falling, he seemed to celebrate the accomplishment. Filipkowski wrote: "Then you can see how proud he is of his accomplishment at the bottom."

It wasn't completely clear what Trump was traveling for, though he was seen that day at a Turning Point Action (TPA) convention in Michigan as he seeks another four-year term in the White House ahead of the November election.

People wouldn't normally judge a 78-year-old for struggling, but it comes off the back of Trump slamming President Biden's age and ability.

X users were quick to criticize the former president's antics, including his little celebratory smirk at the bottom of the stairs.

@ArtCandee wrote: "Trump's going so slow too, yet he makes fun of Biden for going deliberately because of his neuropathy."

Others noted the strange way he walked, swinging his right leg around in a circle as he seemed to drag it like dead weight.

User @rloewe65 commented: "There is something seriously wrong with his right leg. Watch how he practically flings it out in front of him as he steps down compared to the left leg."

The video comes amid speculation on Trump's health, with many experts claiming that his gait and inability to stabilize himself when he walks are signs of his deteriorating mental state.

He was seen recently freezing up during a concert at the White House.

Biden also fell on the stage of the Air Force Academy graduation last year in a shocking moment that went viral. Like Trump, he has denied that his memory is failing.

But Trump has also made his fair share of gaffes, too, mixing up names and people frequently as he also stumbles over his words.

Both are neck and neck in the polls ahead of the 2024 election, and it remains unclear which one will come out on top and lead the country for the next four years.
