Rumblings of the Chicago Bulls trading up in the NBA Draft continue to linger, potentially finding star DeMar DeRozan's eventual replacement.

The Bulls' front office has two major options, as Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times pointed out: either selecting DeRozan's heir or a big man to bulk up a depleting front court.

“What remains to be seen, however, is what direction do the Bulls go?" Cowley wrote. "Do they prepare for DeMar DeRozan possibly leaving in free agency or if he does return — the more likely scenario — draft his heir apparent at the small forward position? Do they grab a big to replace the expected vacancy with Andre Drummond looking for a new team, as well as some youth to push starter Nikola Vucevic?”

If they opt for selecting a forward, it will likely come with moving up in the draft. G League Ignite's Matas Buzelis is the most discussed name of the pool for Chicago. Buzelis averaged 14.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks on 44.5% shooting in 26 games for the Ignite last season. His mixture of shotmaking versatility, smoothness in transition, and defensive potential are the attributes that make him an intriguing player. He has the ability to become a respected defender due to his 6-foot-8 frame and athleticism.

Alternatively, Purdue center Zach Edey could be the premier choice if unable or unwilling to trade up. As Cowley mentioned, motivating the past-prime Vucevic while finding a long-term big man is crucial.
