Foreign Ministry follows up on death of 6 Jordanian pilgrims
Amman, June 15 (Petra) -- The Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Sunday that it is following up on the death of six Jordanian citizens who were performing Hajj today after suffering from heat stroke.
Head of Directorate, Sufyan Al-Qudah, said that the Ministry, through the Directorate and the Kingdom's Consulate General in Jeddah, is following up with the competent Saudi authorities on the procedures for burying the pilgrims and transferring the bodies of those whose relatives wish to transfer them to the Kingdom as soon as possible.
Al-Qudah also expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the six pilgrims.
He explained that the six pilgrims weren't members of the official Jordanian Hajj mission, calling on all Jordanian citizens performing Hajj to call for assistance around the clock through the following numbers: Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs: 00962795497777 - Emergency Line/Jeddah: 0966501784611 or through the email address of the Directorate: [email protected].
