While speaking at an event in Michigan, Donald Trump had yet another strange moment on the campaign trail when he suffered a memory lapse while challenging President Joe Biden to a cognitive test.
Trump was in the middle of challenging President Biden to a cognitive test when he claimed he “aced” a test meant to detect cognitive decline. Trump then referred to former White House physician and current Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) as “Doc Ronny Johnson.” Trump again referred to the congressman as Ronny Johnson immediately after. It’s unclear if Trump confused the Texas congressman with Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI).
Trump: I think he should take a cognitive test like I did. I took a cognitive test and I aced it. Doc Ronny. Doc Ronny Johnson. Does everyone know Ronny Johnson, congressman from Texas? He was the White House doctor, and he said I was the healthiest president, he feels, in history, so I liked him very much immediately.
Trump has repeatedly bragged that he “aced” the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), which he has previously mentioned tested his memory while reciting “person, woman, man, camera, TV” during an interview with Fox News. However, forgetting the name of the doctor who administered the test meant to detect cognitive decline while bragging about “acing” it may cast doubt on that claim.
