Massive heat dome brings dangerous heat this week across Ontario and Quebec
A massive heat wave is expected across Ontario and Quebec as we head into your upcoming work week, courtesy of this Ridge of high pressure which just trapping in the heat from the ocean. Now because of this high pressure, it's going to be compressing and that's why we're going to be seeing this heat over a prolonged time. Also tracking in moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. So not only are we getting the heat, but also the humidity and those values will be into the 40s. We can expect temperature readings into the low to mid 30s this upcoming week, which is around 8 to 10° above seasonal. And yes, this will continue as we head into the next four to five days. Even overnight lows here in the purple line will be above 20°. So not much relief from the heat as we head into this upcoming work week. Now in terms of some records here, it could be breaking one as we head into this week for a Humidex all time Humax record back on June 30th, 2018. It's 45.6°. This week's forecast is around 4445 and we have seen. Memorable 30 plus day streaks In terms of the heat, the last one was July 2020 and before that in June, July of 2018. We're forecasting this time around five to seven days potentially with peak temperatures as well into the mid 30s now.
