HFD: 1 dead in south Houston house fire
One person died and another was injured in a house fire in south Houston on Saturday.

HOUSTON — One person died and another was injured Saturday in south Houston, according to the fire department.
The Houston Fire Department said it happened in a neighborhood off 288 just south of Airport Boulevard. They posted about it on social media just before 6 p.m. saying that the fire had been extinguished, although it's unclear when the fire broke out or what started it.
They said the person who was injured was taken to an area hospital. They didn't say what condition they were in.
HFD asked people to avoid the area due to emergency vehicle traffic.

@HoustonFire is on scene at 3020 Frair Point. The house fire has been extinguished. Unfortunately there was one civilian fatality & one civilian was transported to ER. HFD Arson is investigating the cause. Avoid the area due to heavy emergency traffic. @FireChiefofHFD
