Met Office 14 Day Weather Outlook 14/06/24
Welcome to your 14 day outlook that takes us to the end of June. Pretty much any signs of warm and sunny weather? Well, sunny, not in the short term. Well, there'll be some sunshine this weekend, but with low pressure sitting across the UK, there will also be plenty of showers and it stays pretty showery certainly into the first part of next week. After that there are signs that higher pressure will be trying to move in, but how successful it is, well still open to some doubt. This is the most likely pressure set up through the middle of next week. Wednesday the 19th and Thursday the 20th. High pressure trying to move in from the southwest but low pressure still dominating further north, generating the winds coming in from the West, which means temperatures will at least be close to average. And of course. Middle latter part of June when the sun is out it will feel quite warm. Generally they are staying pretty showery, particularly across more northern western parts of the UK, and often quite breezy as well with low to the north. And high pressure further South close you are to the high pressure, the better chance of some lengthier dry spells, a bit more in the way of sunshine when the sun is out just because of the time of year. Beyond that, through the weekend and in fact beyond the summer solstice, it looks like we'll continue with that general trend. It looks like most of the showers will be focused further north across the UK, something a little drier in the South and those temperatures again back closer to average, but. Jumping up every now and then, if we have some decent spells of sunshine, what about beyond that into the following week? Well, actually the the final full week of June is showing some promising signs of a bit of a shift. Now this time of year pressure pattern predictions, this kind of range are a little bit more unreliable when they are through other times of the year. So the predictability if you like does tend to ease off. But this is definitely showing some Reds towards the end of the period and that would indicate that higher pressure is more likely so. For the week beginning the 24th of June, it does look as if high pressure is the more likely dominant weather feature. High pressure means the air is sinking, which means an increased chance of some lengthier spells of drier weather as well, and as a result of that, likely to be warmer also. But at the moment there is no significant signal of any heat. As always, do keep up to date with the day-to-day details.
