Storm thread builds for parts of the Prairies on Saturday
As we head into the weekend, we are tracking below seasonal conditions, unsettled and even a threat for some non severe thunderstorms on the horizon for Saturday and potentially lingering through for a Sunday. Looking ahead at this weekend in terms of the temperature anomaly and temperatures are 5 to 15° below where they should be for this time of year. Looking at Sunday's forecast here, definitely struggling to meet into the mid teens, 8 even 12° below where we should be for this time of year as we head into Sunday. But for a Saturday tracking some more non severe storms in nature in yellow areas across the border of Saskatchewan and Manitoba there in orange due to threat to see severe storms late Saturday into your Sunday. Large hail, strong winds, heavy rain that'll be some of the main hazards all thanks to this low pressure system. Bring in the widespread rainfall right across areas of the Prairie provinces continuing into your Saturday evening, into your overnight hours. That's we're going to be watching for the threat for those more severe storms as I mentioned and yes, even some snow up along the rocky and coastal mountains. Overall through Sunday, quite a bit of rain forecasted potentially upwards of 50mm in some parts of the provinces.
