2024 U.S. Open: Tiger Woods misses the cut at Pinehurst No. 2

Tiger Woods arrived at Pinehurst No. 2 this week feeling like he had the strength to contend for the U.S. Open.

For the second consecutive major, he's heading home early instead.

Woods missed Friday's cut (+5) by two strokes after shooting rounds of 74 and 73 to finish seven-over-par with a two-day score of 147. It's just the fifth time in 23 career U.S. Open starts Woods has missed the cut. He previous.y missed the cut at the PGA Championship last month.

At BetMGM, Tiger was +220 to make the cut at Pinehurst and -300 to miss.

Woods was far from the only big name left out of the weekend chase as Viktor Hovland (+6), Max Homa (+6) and Dustin Johnson (+8) all found themselves outside the cut line as well.

Ludvig Åberg, Matthieu Pavon, Bryson DeChambeau, Thomas Detry, Tony Finau and Patrick Cantlay are all in a battle at the top of a crowded leaderboard headed into moving day.
