Cricketing powerhouse Pakistan faced a group-stage elimination from the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies after the game between hosts USA and Ireland was abandoned due to inclement conditions ensured that the former champions would take the early flight back home from North America.

Social media erupted following the elimination of Babar Azam and Co. as users expressed their opinions on Pakistan’s exit from the 20-over showpiece.

Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer shared an update that read, “Contrary to popular belief, Pakistan didn’t get knocked out because USA v IRE got rained off. They got knocked out because Pakistan lost to USA :)”

Multiple users took digs at the misfortunes of the Pakistani unit with one user sharing a post that read, “Pakistan knocked out of the World Cup, I think a few of them won’t go back and seek asylum”
