Gallagher talks about speculation over his club future
There's so much special speculation about going about your future with you've been linked with heavily with the move to to Tottenham and potentially Aston Villa. Now there's speculation talking about you, Stanley, new Chelsea bond, right. How distracting is that? Because you're a human being when you in the air, you're away with England, you want to focus on the major tournament and yet that must be the luck you are. Yeah, well, you said it. I've, I've just been focusing on England and this is the most important thing right now for me, for the country. And yeah, I'm just want to want to start the tournament now. Cheers. You've been captain quite a lot for Chelsea this season. I know you have the experience of Qatar, but do you think having that leadership role will be able to bring that into the the England side this time? Yeah, definitely. I think I've come a long way this season. I give a lot of credit to to watch T know what he's done for me, gave me a a responsibility and trust to at Chelsea. And yeah, I think, like I said, it puts me in a better position to be a bigger part of the squad for this tournament. And yeah, I'm going to do everything I can to to help the team as much as possible, as well as in centre of field. There's been lots of debate about who will start at centre back and someone who looks likely to play there is someone you know, well, you know, Mark Gay, You, you, he played with him in the Academy and Crystal Palace and and for England. So if he does start, how do you think he'll deal with the pressure of playing in the major tournament? I think he'll be brilliant if he does. He's a top guy and a top player and yeah, I'm going to be happier if he, if he managed to start some games this tournament. He's been brilliant for Crystal Palace and for England when he's played. So he's more than ready to to play for sure. Just on on him again. How would you describe him as a player and how have you seen him change over the years? He's he's very professional, very hard working, a great leader as well. But yeah, I think he's got everything you need to, to be a, a top defender. Yeah. Hi, Colin. Can you just sum up what the season's been like for you? Because there's there's been so much boys around Chelsea all year, the highs and the lows because the guys have said speculation about your future, but your form's been just consistent all the way through. And now obviously with England, I think can you just sum up the last year, what has been? Alright? Yeah, I've really enjoyed it. When I'm playing football, I'm I'm happy and I've been playing on a consistent basis this season. So I've just wanted to work as hard as possible to help Chelsea as much as I can and England when I've, when I've played. So yeah, I'll say again, a lot of credit to, to Pochettino for, for giving me that, that opportunity to, to show Chelsea what, what I could do in, in the last season. So hopefully, hopefully can still still run for improvement.
