Ukrainian intelligence chief on situation at front: It's difficult period now, but there will be no Armageddon

It's a difficult period right now on the front line in Ukraine, but there will be no Armageddon, states the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov.

"I believe that the difficult period is happening now. But I repeat once again - there will be no Armageddon. Don't worry, we will endure and win," Budanov said.

He also mentioned that the summer counteroffensive of the Russian Federation has already begun.

"It's already underway. It started in mid-May and is ongoing. It continues. The situation is not the best, but there's no need to exaggerate the consequences of this," the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate noted.

Situation on the front line

Russian forces are attacking across the entire front line, with a particular focus on the Donetsk region, for the capture of which the enemy has opened up other directions.

Also in May, the aggressors began an offensive in the Kharkiv region. Currently, active fighting is ongoing in the area of the town of Vovchansk.
