Russia could have a hundred nuclear warheads in Kaliningrad, Polish Foreign Minister

The risks of an attack on the European Union (EU) are entirely real. The Russian Federation could have around a hundred nuclear warheads in Kaliningrad, says the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, during the opening ceremony of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024.

As Sikorski reminded, the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad is located 200 km north of Warsaw. In his opinion, Russia could hold a hundred nuclear warheads there.

"Belarus is also nearby. This means that an attack on the European Union is entirely possible," he added.

The minister also reminded about the violations of airspace by Russian missiles, which have repeatedly flown into Poland's airspace during attacks on Ukraine.

"Sometimes they pass through our territory and return to Ukraine. Sometimes they accidentally enter our airspace. Even in the western part of Poland. This is very close. The danger is greater than some people think," the minister stated.

Airspace violations during attacks

As Sikorski mentioned earlier, the Russian Federation, during massive attacks against Ukraine, has repeatedly violated Polish airspace with missiles. For example, one of the missiles flew into the country's territory over the Lublin Voivodeship during the attacks on March 24. In response, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian ambassador on the carpet, but he ignored it and left the country.
