How CeeDee Lamb ranks compared to other top NFL wide receivers on third and fourth downs
CeeDee Lamb has developed into one of the best offensive weapons in the NFL and beats his competition when the Dallas Cowboys are looking for key yardage on third and fourth downs.
America’s Team drafted CeeDee Lamb out of Oklahoma with the first pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The rookie just fell short of 1,000 yards receiving in his maiden NFL campaign as he logged 935.
However, in his sophomore season, he breached the milestone after tallying 1,102 yards.
The 25-year-old’s progress was not to be halted and he added another 257 yards on top of his previous season.
Lamb has a dominant 2023 and shows why he is up there with the best
Last year, Lamb has proved why he is one of the best wide receivers in the business.
Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill pipped Lamb to the top spot in receiving yards, as the pair finished on 1,799 and 1,749 respectively.

The Dallas Cowboys’ target man is entering the final year of his rookie deal which he signed back in 2020.
Therefore, he has become one of the most notable offseason talking points as he has refused to show up for the OTAs.
Lamb wants to receive his first major contract in the NFL but the Cowboys are hesitant to overpay.
Moreover, Lamb is one of three star wide receivers looking for their first blockbuster deals in the league.
Lamb is competing with Jefferson and Chase for the biggest deals
Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase are on the prowl and have also been no-shows at their team’s respective spring training programs.
Jefferson is expected to become the league’s highest-paid receiver, and the other front offices are patiently waiting.
From what it seems, Jerry Jones is cautious about overpaying Lamb and wants to show his player a paycheque which comes in just underneath the benchmark Jefferson will set.
Lamb deserves to become one of the league’s most expensive receivers and has proved his invaluable talent in clutch moments.
Lamb was the best-receiving asset in the league on third and fourth down
Per PFF statistics, Lamb is the most productive wide receiver on the third and fourth down plays in the NFL.
The Cowboys star leads the league in, receptions (38), first downs (31), and receiving yards (667).
Furthermore, Lamb finished 2023 in third for touchdowns (5) in third and fourth down situations.
Jerry Jones has a world-class asset on his roster and will need to cough up the money which should not be hard considering they are the most valuable franchise in the world.
Lamb has seen fellow WR1s A.J. Brown and Amon-Ra St. Brown receive their new deals and he hopes to be next.
So far, Lamb has been absent from all of the Cowboys’ voluntary programs but his true intentions will be on display come the mandatory minicamp.
The mandatory camp is scheduled for Thursday and Lamb could withhold services to leverage a new deal.
